Start our marvelous pilgrimage journey from Kathmandu by visiting interesting places around world heritage sites with ancient temples and Stupas. Then head towards Nepal Mid-West at Pokhara, where a scenic-short flight takes you to Jomsom town. Jomsom, a headquarter town of Mustang district and home to Thakali people is located on a shelf of Kaligandaki River.
From Jomsom, take an exciting drive in four-wheel jeeps to reach much higher to our destination at the holy Muktinath Temple premises. Over there you can marvel at great views of the Dhaulagiri range of mountains.
The Muktinath is regarded as the most sacred pilgrimage place for the Hindu religion where the mass flow of pilgrims visits from all parts of Nepal and India. Here, impressive natural elements are displayed in miraculous form-flickering blue flames of natural methane gas burning on water, stone, and earth. In an offering, it is said to have been first lit by Brahma, the Hindu creator.
Muktinath purity goes back into the antiquity of thousands of years back when you can observe the sight of natural power. On a route around Kaligandaki Valley, pilgrims search for black glossy fossils called Shaligram (ammonite), found in abundance around Kaligandaki River banks. On the outside, they look like small rounded rocks but split open revealing the imprint of ammonites formed 140 million years ago. Because of its wheel-like shape, the Shaligram is associated with the Hindu god Vishnu.
After a peaceful and great photographic session at Muktinath, our journey leads you back to Jomsom for a scenic flight to beautiful Pokhara. And onward, we will be heading towards Kathmandu city with the marvelous experience of the Jomsom Muktinath Tour.
