    Dhampus Day Hiking takes you beyond the beautiful city of Pokhara. The charming Pokhara city is adorned with impressive views of Annapurna range of peaks with towering Machhapuchhre Himal (Mt. Fishtail). You can also observe the beautiful reflection of these Himalayas on its tranquil Phewa and Begnas Lakes.

    Dhampus is located in the Mid-West region of Nepal on the suburb of Pokhara valley. The trip starts with a short drive and then we hike from low warm farm areas to reach cooler hills. And finally,to the ridges at Dhampus village. The village offers fascinating panorama of Annapurna-Manaslu and Lamjung Himal range with majestic Machhapuchhre Himal.

    Dhampus Day Hiking besides its amazing scenery of Annapurna Himalaya range and unique beautiful landscapes, the culture of local Gurung village is equally worth taking.

    On this Pokhara Day Hiking, after enjoying the views and culture at Dhampus, we further walk up to Australian Camp or Thulo Kharka. It’s also a scenic place within forest surrounding facing views of snow-capped peaks and then, we descend downhill to a small village of Kande for drive back to Pokhara.

    Nearly all months of the year except the monsoon wet months from mid June to mid September, March to May best time for clear views till afternoon where wild flowers are in bloom with fantastic views of mountains, a pleasant day with cooler morning and night time.October to December another best time for clear views of peaks with short sunlight days can be freezing cold in the morning and night time, depending upon altitude wise.

    The other options either stay overnight in Dhampus village or at Australian Camp and catch early morning sunrise before heading back to Pokhara.

      Morning drive West of Pokhara at Phedi a small rural village and hike to Dhampus Hill and village of 3-4 hrs climb and back on drive:

      After having hearty breakfast at your hotel, our guide meets you for short drive outside the Pokhara city premises heading due north on Pokhara and Beni highway. After an hour, we reach a small farm village at Phedi within Suikhet area, where Phedi means bottom of a hill or a mountain.

      From here. we take a pleasant uphill climb on stone steps to reach farm fields and terraces with views of Pokhara valley. Then, the gradual walk continues towards a patch of cool forest with steep climb for an hour. Then finally, we reach dramatic view point and ridge at Dhampus village.

      Here we enjoy the incredible panorama of Annapurna range of peaks. It includes Machhapuchhre Himal, Lamjung and Manaslu Himal with a tip of Mt. Dhaulagiri along with scenic landscapes.

      After a great glorious moments, we head an hour hike to reach the Australian Camp or Thulo Kharka means cattle grazing pasture. This place offers superb panorama of peaks, then finally we descend downhill to a road-head at Kande village. Then, we take a short drive back to Pokhara, with fantastic and exciting time on Dhampus Day Hiking.
