Trip Overview

Jomsom Muktinath Photography Tour

Jomsom Muktinath Photography Tour is a scenic trip leading you too far in the western Himalayas between the massive Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himalayan peaks. With this  Nepal tour, you will be at a photogenic spot at Muktinath. Some Buddhist followers consider it the holiest spot for all Hindu religions. So this tour is one of the best tours of Nepal for religious people.

Muktinath Jomsom Photography Tour allows you to take great shots of the unique local cultures of the Thakali people. Its villages are interwoven-ed with Buddhism religion and ancient heritage. Jomsom is located in the Mustang district, the headquarters and administrative town of Mustang. This is on the famous old Trans-Himalaya Salt Trade Route of Nepal and Tibet, which extends beyond the Upper Mustang towards Karo-la pass at the border of these countries.

This tour delights the traveler into visiting the holiest of all places within the sacred sites of Muktinath  Temple. Moreover, this temple is believed to more thousands of years of history.

The photographic Tour of Jomsom Muktinath leads from the famous and scenic city of Pokhara. Pokhara is blessed with the natural wonders of the high Annapurna Himalaya and majestic Machhapuchhre Himal, known as Fish-Tail Peak.

Start our marvelous photo-session journey from Kathmandu toward scenic Pokhara. And then taking a short flight to Jomsom town, located on a shelf of Kaligandaki River. Now walk from Jomsom to reach the much higher destination at the holy Muktinath Temple premises. Here you can marvel at great views of the Dhaulagiri range of mountains.

The temple of Muktinath and its premises are regarded as the most sacred pilgrimage place for the Hindu religion. There is an influx of tourists from all parts of Nepal and India.

The unique natural elements excite you at Muktinath. The display of miraculous flickering blue flames of natural methane gas burning on water, stone, and earth in an offering said to have been first lighted by Brahma, the Hindu creator.

Muktinath purity goes back into the antiquity of thousands of years when you could observe the sight of natural power. On the route around Kaligandaki Valley, pilgrims search for glossy black fossils called Shaligram (ammonite), found in abundance around Kaligandaki River banks.

On the outside, they look like small rounded rocks but split open, revealing the imprint of ammonites formed 140 million years ago. Because of its wheel-like shape, the Shaligram is associated with the Hindu god Vishnu.

After a peaceful and great photographic session at Muktinath, our journey leads you back to Jomsom for a scenic flight to beautiful Pokhara. And onward, we will be heading towards Kathmandu after a great shot and photograph with the marvelous experience of the Jomsom Muktinath Photography Tour.

Jomsom Muktinath Photography Tour – A Dream for Photographers

I recently did the Jomsom–Muktinath photography tour, and it was truly the best photography experience of my life.

The places we visited were absolutely stunning—Muktinath Temple, Kagbeni, Marpha, Jomsom, and Dhumba Lake—each location was a perfect spot for capturing breathtaking photos. The landscapes, the culture, and the natural light made every shot special.

I want to sincerely thank Eco Holidays Nepal for organizing this amazing tour. The service, food, and accommodation were all excellent, and everything was well arranged from start to finish.

    Jomsom Muktinath Photography Tour

I am originally from India but I live in the UK. I have already visited Kathmandu Valley and the pilgrimage sites. In 2025, our whole family plans to visit Muktinath, and I contacted Mr. Dhruba. I think the vibes and positivity that I felt from him were fantastic, and the language helped me connect with him. The service in Pokhara and Muktinath was fantastic. My whole family was very happy. Actually, I gave this trip to my entire family for our 15th marriage anniversary. My whole family, including my father and mother, was so happy that I can’t even describe it. In Muktinath, my mother was emotional because of everything I did for her. At that time, all the money and effort I spent on planning the trip felt completely worthwhile and successful. I want to thank Mr. Dhruba from the bottom of my heart for the service he provided to us. Thanks a lot.

    Jomsom Muktinath Tour

I am originally from India. One of my friends from Nepal suggested that I visit Muktinath. He guided me on how I could join the tour. I contacted Ecoholidays Nepal, and after that, everything was managed by the company itself, including all the paperwork and arrangements.

I think the Pokhara Muktinath Kathmandu combination was the best option for us as Indians who believe in God. Thanks to everyone, and especially to Mr. Dhruba, for all the help.

The Best Photo I Ever Took in Upper Mustang

The journey to Upper Mustang was fantastic. The vibes and the photographs I captured were amazing. During the tour, the guide suggested some incredible spots for photography that I couldn’t even imagine. I truly want to suggest that if you are a photographer or a nature lover, Upper Mustang is the best place to visit. Thanks to Mr. Dhruba Dhare for all the help.
