Ghandruk Village Annapurna View Trek

Annapurna View Trekking is one of the few short adventures you don’t want to miss while visiting Nepal. This journey leads you to unimaginable views of mountains on daily walks. Also, you will be exploring traditional hill villages of great interest.

The view trek to Annapurna certainly excites you with a daily dose of scenery with constant views of the massive Annapurna Himalaya. You will be pleased with the magnificent Machhapuchhre Himal, famously known as Fish Tail due to its twin peak summits.  Unlike Mount Everest(you may read our blog: Where is Mount Everest located?), it is one of the few virgin mountains in Nepal Himalayas, never been climbed or allowed to set foot on its highly respected peaks.

Apart from mountain views, the walk leads into green vegetation and enchanting woodland. Tall rhododendron with magnolia and pine trees in the springtime of March to May are expected. The whole hills and valley will be ablaze with rhododendron and other wildflowers in full bloom.

Our trek starts from the picturesque city of Pokhara, one of the most beautiful valleys in the Nepal Himalayas. Pokhara is enclosed with tiers of green hills in the shade of the high Annapurna Himalaya range that reflects on its calm Phewa and Begnas Lakes.

So Annapurna View trek leads with a short drive outside Pokhara to follow the Poon Hill Trek route until Ghorepani. On this trail, we head into high green hills visiting interesting farm villages with views of Annapurna Himalaya. And then, enter into the dense woods of rhododendron to reach the scenic and popular tourist hill village at Ghorepani. It is amid a beautiful cool alpine forest facing incredible views of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna mountains.

From Ghorepani, we head to our main target of this short adventure at Poon Hill.  A stunning panorama of mountains with striking sunrise views is seen from Poonhill. It also faces the Dhaulagiri-Nilgiri’s-Annapurna-Lamjung and Manaslu mountain range with the ever-present towering peaks of Machhapuchhre.

Enjoy lovely and fantastic moments at Ghorepani and Poon Hill. The return journey leads back to scenic Pokhara, taking an alternative route within woodland and gorge in the backdrop of the high Annapurna range. Explore Poon-Magar and Gurung villages of great interest. Then reach the beautiful city of Pokhara by its serene Phewa Lake.
