You, indeed, must have found multiple Everest Base Camp Trek itineraries. This one, the Short Everest Base Camp Trek, is for travelers who want to do the trek in 10 days.

Yes, the short Everest Base Camp trek is a 10-day trip. It has no acclimatization day at all. Instead, it is a quick walk to the foothills of Mt. Everest for the fierce trekkers. Thus, this itinerary may not be suitable for first-timers. It is strictly for the expert and well-prepared trekkers who can take high-altitude treks without acclimatization.

The trip starts with a stunning flight to Lukla from Kathmandu’s crowded alleys. You will touch the Everest Region at Lukla, the gateway, within half an hour. The trek will eventually start on the day you trek up to Phakding. Then gradually, you will travel across the spectacularly beautiful Everest Region.

The dense woods of Sagarmatha National Park, countless suspension bridges, colorful prayer flags, stone-made staircases, busy traditional villages, pleasing people, spectacular mountains, broad valleys, buzzing cold rivers, icy glaciers, and many more things will come along. The journey will happen through the standard EBC route via Namche Bazaar to Gorak Shep and Everest Base Camp.

In between, you will spend exciting evenings in the popular stops and villages of the region. You will be in the area for ten days, experiencing so many things. This short Everest Base Camp trek has cultural displays except for natural wonders. You will know the people and their lifestyle, culture, and food from a close encounter. This is about the whole route.

Now let’s talk about what it is like to be at Everest Base Camp (5,365 m). You will reach the front yard of Mt. Everest after a rapid and demanding trek of several days. When you touch the base camp and see Mt. Everest, it will be historic, memorable, and astonishing.

It will be even more astonishing to climb Kala Patthar (5,545 m), the trek’s highest point. From this viewpoint, you will experience and watch Mt. Everest like never before. Mt. Everest and other peaks, like Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori, Changtse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Lobuche, and more.

And after nicely encountering Mt. Everest, you will take a road back to Lukla. Retracing the earlier footprints, making more memories, and enjoying the region, you will finish the trek back to Lukla. On the last day of the trip, a scenic flight will bring you back to Kathmandu. That will be the end of the short Everest Base Camp trek.

Breakfast and dinner in the overnight teahouse, lunch in the lodges along the trail. The local tea houses serve local, Chinese, Indian, and Western meals. Nevertheless, the options are fewer. Overall, this shorter Everest Base Camp trek is demanding. It will be easier if you have more days. However, you have just ten days to reach the base camp and return. All of this will happen rapidly. Hence, you need to have a good fitness level for this trek.

You have to pay an extra fee to use the Internet. The Internet speed will be just fine. Alternatively, you can use a 3G network of Namaste and Ncell for the internet. The two networks are available in the region. Using those sims, you can access the internet on the trek.

Hot Shower on the Short Everest Base Camp Trek

Most of the tea houses or lodges have hot shower services. The teahouses use a solar heating system to deliver hot showers. You have to pay the extra fee of 200 to 500 (2-5 USD) for using a hot shower. The charge increases as we go higher. The hot showers will not be in the Short Everest Base Camp Trek cost. Everest Base Camp Trek Cost

One frequently asked question is about the Everest Base Camp Trek cost. Many people want to know about the cost of the trek. So the price depends on several things. You can do the EBC trek two ways: through a trekking agency or yourself.

The trek can be economical if you do a solo trek by yourself. However, that takes a lot of effort. You must arrange everything from permits, tickets, and accommodation to meals. Yes, this is a budget traveling option. But you need to be ready to do all the things by yourself. You have to do bargaining with the teahouse owners, arrange meals, navigate your way, and more. If you are up for this challenge, you can solo trek and save money.

We guess that type of traveling is not everyone’s cup of tea. That is full of hassles. Traveling to a foreign region all by yourself is not an easy task. That is where the licensed local trekking agency comes in handy. The Everest Base Camp Trek cost with the agency is already fixed. In our case, the short Everest Base Camp Trek 10 days cost USD 1050 per person. However, there are plenty of international and local agencies charging more.

The cost will cover various tour expenses from arrival to departure. All the basic trek expenses are included. Our team is full of experience and value. Our package cost is fair and reasonable. You can check what is included and what is not in the charge for more details above. We believe in the best service as per the price.

Overall, the Everest Base Camp Trek cost depends on timing and your spending habits. If it’s the peak season for the trek, the price can go for various reasons and vice versa. Similarly, the cost can go up if you like to spend more. For an economic EBC trek, you can remember us. We have been offering the best price.

Children on Short Everest Base Camp Trek

As said earlier, this short EBC trek is only for strict and experienced trekkers. This EBC itinerary has no rest or acclimatization day. It is just a quick way of reaching the base camp of Mt. Everest. We believe it takes great experience and preparation to do this short version of the Everest Base Camp Trek. Thus, it is better not to bring children or underage people on this plan. However, we accept people older than ten years for other easy or moderate treks. We can talk more about this if you want. Just give us a call.

Water on Short Everest Base Camp Trek

Water is available on the trek. You can use bottled water or boiled water. The tea houses and shops along the trail sell bottled water. Or you can drink the tap water, which the locals drink, using water purifying tablets. This option is more budget-friendly. Hence, do not forget to bring enough water-purifying tablets.

Shorten the Short Everest Base Camp Trek

If you want to shorten the EBC Trek, you have good options. This itinerary is already a shorter one. However, you can add a helicopter if you want to make it even faster. Everest Base Camp Helicopter Trek is one good option. In this package, you will add a helicopter return from Kala Patthar and save two days. You will get to experience both trek and helicopter tours in one trip.

Otherwise, you can opt for the Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour. It is a one-day tour where you will fly to Everest Base Camp and return. This option is better if you have less time and a reasonable budget. The trip does not involve trekking, just flying on a chopper.

Thanks to Eco Holidays Nepal for an Incredible Everest Base Camp Trek

My best friend and I had only 18 days of leave from work, and we wanted to escape the hustle and bustle to a place where we could feel free and connect with nature. I chose Nepal and he suggested the Everest Base Camp trek. After discussing, we realized we had only 18 days so I contacted Mr. Dhruba from Eco Holidays Nepal. He assured me we could complete the trek in about 10 days, with 12-13 days total in Nepal to explore and relax. We booked the trek, and I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent guide, the stunning nature, and the fabulous food. Thanks to Eco Holidays Nepal, I completed the Everest Base Camp trek in just 10 days, and I’m truly impressed with their team's service. A big thank you to everyone at Eco Holidays Nepal!"
