Panchase Trekking is one of Pokhara's most scenic short treks or hikes. So, it takes you to the mid-hills within the Annapurna Himalaya range. This trek leads you to a fabulous panorama of snow-capped mountains from the journey's start to end. In the meantime, you will get time to explore local villages of great interest.
The Panchase Trek begins in beautiful Pokhara City. A short drive takes you to its southern side beyond Pokhara Valley to reach our walking spot. And then head to high hills with many farming areas around Gurung villages. Then, the walk takes you to Bhumdi and onward to Panchase Bhanjyang. Meanwhile, walk through serene cool rhododendron and pine forest with ever-present views of Annapurna Himalaya.
Panchase Bhanjyang is a small Gurung farm village at the bottom of the scenic Panchase Hill. From there, the morning walk leads to a long climb of a few hours to reach the viewpoint. Thus this hilltop offers an excellent panorama of Western Himalaya with Dhaulagiri-Annapurna-Manaslu as far as Ganesh Himal with towering Machhapuchare Himal, the famous Fish-Tail peak.
Enjoy views of mountain panorama along with stunning sunrise. Next, head down into forested areas to reach Bhaduare village unto the scenic hill of Sarangkot. This overnight stop offers marvelous sunrise views over an array of peaks. And then, head back to Pokhara after a great, memorable, and amazing short trek in the Annapurna region.
Best Seasons for Panchase Trek:
Nearly all months of the year except the monsoon, wet months from mid-June to mid-September. March to May is the best time for clear views till the afternoon when wildflowers are in bloom with fantastic views of mountains. A pleasant day with a cooler morning and nighttime.
October to December is yet another best trekking seasons for clear views of peaks. Short sunlight days can be freezing cold in the morning and night, depending on the altitude and overnight stop.
